1. Review the requirements in the SD HOSA Virtual member document.

2. Get permission from your parents and school administration.

3. Complete the virtual member registration (Google Registration).

4. Send payment to SD HOSA State Office. ($20)

5. All ready to grow!!!!

Using the Google Classroom virtual platform, you will be able to engage as a member through a list of monthly modules. Modules include viewing videos, interviews, investigations that will you better understand careers in health care.

Instructions on how to join HOSA and begin utilizing the modules are found below.

Module Overview

Module 1

Use the National HOSA and SD HOSA websites and complete a "Scavenger Hunt" . Use the site to learn all about the HOSA program. Also, use the link in Module 1 to do a healthcare career search.

Module 2

Attend a local SCRUBS camp in your area and write a brief summary about your experience.

Module 3

For National HOSA week, do something for healthcare workers in you community.

Module 4

Research TWO competitive events you are interested in. Competition is one way to learn certain healthcare career skills.

Module 5

View interviews of healthcare professionals/students on SD HOSA"s YouTube Channel.

Module 6

Find a clinician in your community, give a 30-second elevator pitch about the HOSA program

Module 7

Practice your competitions and present them to a group. This group could be peers, local community organization, or teachers.

Module 8

Attend the South Dakota HOSA-Future Health Professionals State Leadership Conference.

Module 9

Make a quick 30-second video on what you thought about your HOSA experience. Also, write thank-yous to the people who helped you on your journey.
